Select and Edit a Fiber Location
To edit “the inside” of an existing fiber location, follow these steps:
-
Open or Create a Session.
-
Navigate reasonably close to the fiber facility you want to edit.
-
On the Main Menu > Fiber tab, click Fiber Builder.
-
Use the Fiber Builder Select tool and click on the fiber facility where you want to make changes.
The tool tip changes when you select different items from the Fiber Manager toolbar. To reactivate Fiber Builder, click the arrow in the corner of the window.
-
Under Locations, find the fiber facility you selected.
-
Under Favorites, locate the existing favorite you want to add to the fiber location. In this example, we are adding a rack and patch panel with 6 ports.
-
Drag and drop the favorite onto the appropriate level of the existing fiber facility. In this case, we are dropping it directly on the patch location because the rack is the next immediate child object.
IMPORTANT: The application prevents you from placing the favorite at the wrong hierarchy level. So, if you are not able to drop a favorite where you want, look at what level you are trying to place the favorite. -
Click Apply, then update the attributes further to reflect the changes in the fiber facility.
-
With the fiber facility still selected on the map, from the Main Tool Ribbon > Edit tab > Selection tool group, click Attributes.
-
The Attributes pane opens.
-
Update the attributes for the fiber asset as necessary.
-
Click Apply and save your session.
