Underground Structures Properties
Underground Structure Type (required)
Select the type from the drop-down.
Symbol Name
Type an abbreviation for the structure. This labels the structure in the map with the abbreviation. For example:
Minimum Point Value (required) and Maximum Point Value (required)
The auto-optimization engine uses these values in calculations for optimizing your network design in Designer HFC.
-
The underground structure contains other components, and these values determine how many components and at what size can fit inside the cabinet.
-
While the underground structure has a range of values between a minimum and maximum, all other components have a single Point Size value.

For example, assume a cabinet has a Maximum Point Value of 210, a Node has a Point Size of 100, and an Amplifier has a Point Size of 50. That means one Node and two Amplifiers could fit inside that particular cabinet (100 + 50 + 50 = 200, which is less than 210). A cabinet that was rated at only 190 could not accommodate the same combination of components because it is too small.
