Overview of the DHFC Environment

The core architecture of DHFC comprises a connected series of applications that work in unison to provide an editing experience outside of ArcGIS Pro. There are five main components:

  1. Geodatabase

    1. This holds the geospatial data and is the final system of record for coax features.

  2. ArcGIS Server

    1. This is the intermediary application between the geodatabase and the DHFC Client Application that provides DHFC access to the geospatial data.

  3. DHFC Catalog Service

    1. This provides the DHFC Client Application required (non-GIS specific) configurations such as specs, groupings, and project files. It is managed in Solution Center.

  4. Solution Center DHFC Plugin

    1. This is the configuration hub for components, groupings, project files, and the client application itself.

  5. DHFC Client Application

    1. This is the desktop application where the user performs design work.
