Map Service Settings

Before you publish the map service for DHFC, review the topics in this section.

Parameters

Refer to Esri’s Configure Parameters article for more information on configuring parameters for the map service.

NOTE: The DHFC application is not set to paginate data, which is a method to display a limited number of search results. Increasing the number of records returned by the server to 1000000 ensures you receive all data upon import.

Disable Schema Locking

Refer to Esri’s Modify Schema Lock Setting article, which outlines how to disable schema locking for the map service, which allows you to modify the referenced dataset's schema without stopping the map service. You might find it beneficial to disable schema locking, specifically for the DHFC map service, so that you may perform geodatabase updates even while DHFC services are running.

Capabilities

The DHFC map service requires three Capabilities: Mapping, Feature Access, and ArcFMMapServer.

Refer to Esri’s Configure Capabilities article for more information about extending your map service functionality by enabling capabilities.

Analyze: Messages, Warnings, and Errors

For utility networks, you can analyze and address errors using the Analyze Network Data tool in ArcGIS Pro. The tool creates an error resolution database containing a summary of all topology errors identified in the network, their location, etc.

Messages and warnings do not prevent a publish, but they usually indicate an area or configuration you can improve for better performance. Conversely, errors do prevent a publish and must be addressed. The list of errors and warnings varies by organization. Refer to Esri’s Analyze Network Data article for more information.
