Change the Feature Layer and Table Identifiers

Each layer and table in your database has a unique identifier. The properties window allows you to change the ID values of the added layers to match the IDs in the Fiber Manager XI project file. These IDs are also used to configure the server object extension in ArcGIS Server Manager.

Begin by adding data to the map.

  1. From the Catalog pane, select all the objects from your database list, right click the selection and select Add To Current Map. You can add the utility network, the relationships, and the tables in one action. For more information about adding layers to your map, see the Esri topic, Add layers to a map or scene.

  2. After the map updates, save your project.

  3. From the Contents pane, right click the map name and select Properties.

  4. Enter a name for the map. This map name is used later when you name the feature service for publishing.

  5. Enable the option for Allow assignment of unique numeric IDs for sharing web layers and click OK.

  6. In the Content pane, right click a feature layer in the database list.

  7. On the General tab, use the data model reference list to change the feature IDs in the properties window to match the reference list and click OK.

In this example, the value of Structure Junction is 5. When you enter 5 in the Layer ID text field of the properties window, both values match.

  8. Repeat this process of matching the Layer IDs for all tables and feature layers.
IMPORTANT: Do not change any layer or table names from the Contents Pane list in ArcGIS Pro. The Fiber Manager XI toolset uses these names to provide relevant functionality across the feature service, Solution Center, and ArcGIS Portal.
