Fiber Feature Classes

The fields in the table below are the required fields in the Fiber Manager 10.x data model. With a couple exceptions, all of the Fiber Manager 10.x fields have an equivalent field in the Fiber Manager XI data model. Your company likely added other fields to your data model, and these fields vary by company. Thus, they are not represented in the table below. Notes

DevicePoint

Communications Junction > Asset Group of Device Point

FiberFault

The FiberFault is a non-networked, point feature class used as a temporary marker of a fault location. It is included in the Fiber Manager 10.x sample data, but it is not required nor an actual fiber asset (it does not interact with Fiber Manager tools). You can add such a feature class in the Fiber Manager XI data model, if desired.

FiberOpticCable

Communications Line > Asset Group of Fiber Cable

FiberSlackloop

Communications Junction > Asset Group of Slackloop

FiberStructure

The FiberStructure is a non-networked, point feature class used to sketch fiber structures in the asset map. It is included in the Fiber Manager 10.x sample data, but it is not required nor an actual fiber asset (it does not interact with Fiber Manager tools).

You can add such a feature class in the Fiber Manager XI data model, if desired. However, if your company intends to implement Conduit Manager XI alongside Fiber Manager XI, then you should use the Conduit Manager XI feature classes and not create an additional FiberStructure feature class.

There is no equivalent field in Fiber Manager XI. In Fiber Manager 10.x, this field would allow different units of measure to be assigned to different cables. With Fiber Manager XI, all calculations use the measurement units as set in the ArcGIS Pro map. If you want to preserve these attributes, you can map them to a custom field, but they do not bear any calculation functionality in Fiber Manager XI.
