Tracing

There are four different ways to capture the cable length, which in turn provides the calculation for glass length. It all depends what information the field crew provides. This information is critical for accurate trace results. The Tracing tab is where you inform the application which fields contain the various length inputs. Both cable and glass lengths are stored at the fiber cable feature class level. The cable length is the physical length of the cable and the glass length is the length of the path the light travels inside the cable.

Use the drop-downs to map the various length fields to the appropriate attribute fields in your database.
