Studio - Configure Autoupdaters

After the Fiber Manager XI feature service is configured, you must enable two core Autoupdaters (AUs). These workflows handle back-end processing of edits to the fiber network.

The Fiber AU Esri Orchestration maintains data integrity while the end user employs ArcGIS Pro tools (such as Delete, Move, or Update Attributes) against fiber assets. The Fiber AU SE Orchestration maintains data integrity while the end user employs Fiber Manager XI tools (such as Fiber Connections, Fiber Builder, or Create Circuit from Trace) against fiber assets.

To configure the AUs:

  1. In Solution Center, go to Workflows > Studio > ArcGIS Server.

  2. Click View Examples.

  3. On the left-hand side of the Examples dialog, click Fiber AU Esri Orchestration once to highlight it in green.

Take note of this name, “Fiber AU Esri Orchestration,” as you use it later.

  4. Within the expression builder, select all the text, then copy it to your clipboard.

  5. Close the Examples dialog.

  6. Still on the Studio > ArcGIS Server subtab, click Add New.

  7. In the expression builder, select the placeholder text and delete it.

  8. Paste the text you copied from Step 4.

  9. Where the orchestration includes the “se_operationalMapIds” line, enter your map ID surrounded by double quotes. If you have more than one map ID, separate them with a comma.

The easiest place to find your map ID is in Solution Center > Fiber Manager > Feature Services > Import tab.

  10. Where the orchestration includes the “se_dummyEditsLayerId” line, enter the layer ID of the SE_AU_EXEC_OPTIONS__ layer. Do not surround it with any punctuation.

To find your layer ID, open your browser to the published map service URL and scroll through the list to the needed IDs.

IMPORTANT: Do not change any other metadata IDs. These are being referenced by the AUs, and changing them breaks the procedures.

    Example workflow text:

  11. Enter a Name for the new workflow. We recommend using the same name as the orchestration, Fiber AU Esri Orchestration. Or, type a name that is recognizable to you and other administrators.

  12. In the lower, right-hand corner of Solution Center, click Publish.

Now, you repeat these steps for the Fiber AU SE Orchestration.

  1. Click View Examples.

  2. On the left-hand side of the Examples dialog, click Fiber AU SE Orchestration once to highlight it in green.

Take note of this name, “Fiber AU SE Orchestration,” as you use it later.

  3. Within the expression builder, select all the text, then copy it to your clipboard.

  4. Close the examples dialog.

  5. Still on the Studio tab > ArcGIS Server tab, click Add New.

  6. In the expression builder, select the placeholder text and delete it.

  7. Paste the text you copied in Step 3.

  8. Where the orchestration includes the “se_operationalMapIds,” enter your map ID surrounded by double quotes. If you have more than one map ID, separate them with a comma.

The easiest place to find your map ID is in Solution Center > Fiber Manager > Feature Services > Import tab.

  9. Where the orchestration includes the “se_dummyEditLayerId,” enter the layer ID of the SE_AU_EXEC_OPTIONS__ layer. Do not surround it with any punctuation.

To find your layer IDs, open your browser to the published map service URL and scroll through the list to the needed IDs.

  10. Where the orchestration includes the “se_circuitsLayerId,” enter the layer ID of the circuit layer. Do not surround it with any punctuation.

    Example workflow text:

  11. For Name, we recommend using the same name as the orchestration, Fiber AU SE Orchestration. Or, type a name that is recognizable to you and other administrators.

  12. In the lower, right-hand corner of Solution Center, click Publish.
