Import an Exported Fiber Manager Configuration

With your published map service now established in Solution Center, you can import existing configurations from another tenant or a previous version of ArcFM. This step is a huge time saver, as it completes most of the Solution Center configurations in a single import.

IMPORTANT: When the XML file is imported, it overwrites any existing configuration.

Import a Data Configuration

  1. Log in to Solution Center and click the Fiber Manager plugin.

  2. On the Feature Services tab, select your map service from the menu. This is the service you previously added to the Mapping plugin.

  3. On the left side, click Import/Export and then make sure the Import Config tab is selected.

  4. Enter the Database Full Schema Name. To get the name, follow these steps:

    1. In ArcGIS Server Manager, click the Services tab > [your service name] > Capabilities > REST URL.

    2. Scroll to the bottom of the REST URL, then click FiberXIRestXOE > featureServiceInfo > JSON drop-down > GET button.

    3. Toward the top of the result, look for a line (or search for it) called “TableName”. The Database Full Schema Name you are looking for is appended to the beginning of the table names. Example: “TableName”:”SEFiber.ArcFM.CommunicationsLine,” has the Database Full Schema Name is SEFiber.ArcFM.

  5. Next to the file field, click Browse to select the configuration you want to import and click Open.

    1. Existing Fiber Manager 10.x Customers: Navigate to the XML file you exported from Export ArcFM Fiber Manager 10.x Schema.

    2. Existing Fiber Manager XI Customers: If using your current configuration in another tenant, see Export ArcFM Fiber Manager XI Schema and use the exported file.

  6. The system then validates the file and gives you any alerts where the imported configuration is different from the existing.

  7. If you accept the validation info, click Import.

Depending on your data model, the import likely established many configurations for you within the other sub-tabs.
