Tables

This section includes all the Fiber Manager XI non-spatial tables.

The topics are ordered to match the order in which they appear in the Fiber Manager XI default published map service.

Structure Junction Object

This object table is present because it is required by the Utility Network (UN). Thus, it is a part of the Fiber Manager XI data model, but Fiber Manager XI does not functionally use it.

BufferTube

Name: BufferTube

Display Field: BufferTubeName

Type: Table

This is an object class to represent the buffer tubes inside a fiber optic cable. In the field, buffer tubes are used to group, protect, and identify fibers within a cable. In Fiber Manager, buffer tubes are used to display fibers within their designated groups and identify specific fibers (Blue Buffer/Blue Fiber = Fiber 1, Blue Buffer/Orange Fiber = Fiber 2,…) within a cable. In the field, buffer tubes may not always be plastic sleeves that surround glass fibers. They can also be stainless steel tubes (OPGW Cables), plastic notches in a helical divider (European Cables), or even painted marks on fibers (underground and submarine cables)

Circuit

Name: Circuit

Display Field: CircuitName

Type: Table

A circuit represents a "chain of glass" from one location to another. This chain of glass should have a port on either end and strands of fiber in between that are connected end to end.

IMPORTANT: In the published feature service, this table has an ID number. This number must match the ID number in the circuit-related dynamic workflows. As an example, in this service it is ID 19, so that ID needs to be supplied within the circuit-related dynamic workflows.

This object table is designed to keep track of all facilities that compose each circuit. However, it is currently not used by the application and is likely to be deprecated. It remains in the data model for now, as it is easier to remove a deprecated table later than add one back in.

Display Field: PortName or PortNumber

Type: Table

This is an object class to represent the split port on a passive device. After the device splits the signal, it transmits out these split ports. The ports are related “siblings” to the common port.

PPCard

Name: PPCard

Display Field: ObjectID

Type: Table

This is an object class to represent the patch panel card that holds the ports. The card is the piece of hardware that is inserted into a patch panel, and it contains one or more optical ports. From a data model perspective, the card forms a convenient “container” to group a collection of ports within a patch panel. The card does not have many distinct characteristics beyond this purpose.

Ribbon

Name: Ribbon

Display Field: Name

Type: Table

The ribbon is a collection of fiber strands that provides organization for all the fibers (and ribbons are organized together in bundles). These act in a similar way to buffertubes.

SE_AU_EXEC_OPTIONS__

Name: SE_AU_EXEC_OPTIONS__

Display Field: created_user

Type: Table

This is an object class that acts as a “staging table” for auto-updaters. As end users interact with fiber assets, this table collects and stores information that is then processed by auto-updaters. As rows are processed, they are removed from this table automatically.

IMPORTANT: In the published feature service, this table has an ID number. This number must match the ID number in the auto-updater dynamic workflows. That ID needs to be supplied within the auto-updater dynamic workflows.
