Create Incidents Downstream of Existing Incidents

An incident can be created on a device downstream of an existing incident. When this situation occurs, you are presented with the following window:

  1. Depending on whether the incident is confirmed or unconfirmed, your options are as follows:

    • If the upstream incident has been confirmed, you have two options. To create a new incident that is not connected to the existing incident, select ‘Create a new confirmed incident for this device.’ Or, if you want to consolidate the new downstream incident with the confirmed existing incident (in which case the new incident has a status of confirmed), select ‘Add this device to the upstream incident.’

    • If the upstream incident is unconfirmed, your only option is to create a confirmed incident downstream. The option to add the device to the upstream incident is disabled.

  2. Click OK to submit your selection.
