Existing Project Files

Click an existing project file to view its attributes. You can also utilize the filter to find the appropriate project file. The default filter field searches both Name and Description, and the Advanced drop-down provides additional filter attributes.

TIP: Click the Reset icon to clear the filter fields.

After locating the project file, you can perform the following actions:

  • Edit: Make changes to the project file fields, then click Validate & Save.

    IMPORTANT:
    • If you change a field to a different value, the Validate & Save button becomes active. If you change that same field back to its original value, the Validate & Save field becomes inactive. This is because the application recognizes the field has returned to its original value, and there is no reason to save or validate.

    • If you rename a project file, once you click Validate & Save, a Renamed Component dialog appears. It states, “The designs using the old name will not load anymore in the client application. Do you still want to continue?” If you click Yes, it saves your changes including the new name. If you click No, it returns you to the highlighted project file. This gives you an opportunity to change the name back and keep other edits, or cancel all changes.

  • Copy: This copies the current project file and then awaits edits. This is a helpful tool to create a new project file that is similar to an existing one. After you click Copy, the application appends the word “(copy)” to the name. Then, make edits as needed and Save. If you do not make edits and Save, the copied project file is discarded.

  • Delete: This deletes the current project file.

IMPORTANT: After you click Delete, a message appears at the bottom of the interface that states, “All designs using this project file will not be usable anymore. Continue deleting?" Click Yes to confirm or No to stop the delete process. If you click Yes, there is no undo for deleting a project file.
