Reference Views

Reference Views allow you to take Reference Map services and then pick and choose which layers are visible and in what order. Views can comprise layers from multiple Reference Maps.

Existing Reference Views

Existing Reference Views are listed on the left-hand side. Click an existing Reference View to view its attributes, its source Reference Maps, and its layers.

New Reference Views

Click the Add New icon to get started.

1. Type a Name for the View. This name is not seen in the client application.

   

2. For Add Another Reference Map, use the drop-down to choose an existing Reference Map, then click Add.

3. Expand the Reference Map. This populates the lower section with all possible layers contained in that Reference Map.

4. Click a layer, then click Add Item.

   

5. Type a user-friendly name for the layer.

6. Repeat the process to continue to add layers.

7. When all layers are added, determine the layer order by typing in numeric values. The layers are sorted from lowest number on top to highest number on bottom.

   TIP: Leave “gaps” in the numeric values. For example, follow an order pattern of 100, 105, 110, 115, etc. In this manner, if you need to add a layer somewhere in the middle, you have room without having to adjust all other layers.

8. When finished, click Save.
