Padlocking the Extended Rotary Handle in the OFF Position

Hazard of electric shock, explosion or arc flash When the handle is in the O-Off position, always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off before working on the equipment. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

You can use one to three padlocks (shackle diameter 5 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in)) to lock the extended rotary handle in the OFF position.

Step	Action
1	Put the device in the OFF position.
2	Pull out the tab.
3	Insert the shackle (diameter 5 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in)) of the padlock(s). NOTE: Padlocks are not supplied.

Padlocking the Extended Rotary Handle in the ON Position

Keylocking the Extended Rotary Handle in the OFF Position

The keylock is an optional accessory.

The handle is delivered with the door lock activated. When the door lock is activated, only qualified persons are authorized to disable the door lock. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

4	Remove the key.
5	Close the door.

Keylocking the Extended Rotary Handle in ON Position

Hazard of electric shock, explosion, or arc flash The handle is delivered with the door lock activated. When the door lock is activated, only qualified persons are authorized to disable the door lock. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

When the extended rotary handle is in the ON position, the door is locked with the door interlock. The door interlock can be deactivated by following the procedure in BQT1167602 ComPacT NS630b-1600 - Extended Rotary Handle - Instruction Sheet.

Follow this procedure to lock the extended rotary handle in the ON position by using a keylock.

Step	Action
1	Put the device in the ON position.
2	Disable the door lock by inserting a paper clip in the rotary handle, as shown.
3	Open the door and remove the paper clip.
4	Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise.
5	Remove the key.
6	Disable the door lock by inserting a paper clip in the rotary handle, as shown.
7	Close the door and remove the paper clip.

When the rotary handle is locked in the ON position:

The protection functions are active and trip the circuit breaker in case of an electrical fault
You can trip the circuit breaker with the push-to-trip button.
