Padlocking the Direct Rotary Handle in the OFF Position

DANGER
Hazard of electric shock, explosion or arc flash When the handle is in the O-Off position, always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off before working on the equipment. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

You can use one to three padlocks (shackle diameter 5 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in)) to lock the direct rotary handle in the OFF position.

Step	Action
1	Put the device in the OFF position.
2	Pull out the tab.
3	Insert the shackle (diameter 5 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in)) of the padlock(s). NOTE: Padlocks are not supplied.

Padlocking the Direct Rotary Handle in the ON Position

Step	Action
1	Put the device in the ON position.
2	Pull out the tab.
3	Insert the shackle (diameter 5 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in)) of the padlock(s). NOTE: Padlocks are not supplied.

When the rotary handle is locked in the ON position:

The protection functions are active and trip the circuit breaker in case of an electrical fault
You can trip the circuit breaker with the push-to-trip button.

Keylocking the Direct Rotary Handle in ON or OFF Position

The keylock is an optional accessory.

Follow this procedure to lock the direct rotary handle in the ON or the OFF position by using a keylock.

NOTE: The procedure illustrates locking in the OFF position. The steps of the procedure for locking in the ON position are identical.

Step	Action
1	Put the device in the ON or the OFF position.
2	Insert the key in the lock.
3	Turn the key counterclockwise.
4	Remove the key	–

When the rotary handle is locked in the ON position:

The protection functions are active and trip the circuit breaker in case of an electrical fault
You can trip the circuit breaker with the push-to-trip button.
