Introduction and Overload Relays
NEMA Sizes 00,
0, 1 Reversing Starter |
For How to Order Information, see Catalog Interpretation, Type S Starters Motor Logic™ Solid-State Overload Relay (SSOLR) Protection These ambient insensitive overload relays are available on three phase sizes 00 through 6. They provide phase loss, phase unbalance protection. To order, add Form H30 (for selectable trip class 10 or 20 protection). For more information about Motor Logic solid-state overload relays (SSOLRs), see pages Motor Logic and Solid-State Overload Relay Factory Modifications (Forms). (Catalog no. example: 8736SCO8V06H30)
The Adapted Bimetallic or Solid-State starter includes a specially designed adapter that attaches with bus bars to the Type S NEMA contactor. This adapter allows direct mounting of the IEC Style bimetallic (LRD or LR3D) or solid-state (LR9D) overload relay (OLR). To order this starter configuration, add Form E (adapter only) to the standard catalog number. The LRD, LR3D, or LR9D OLR must be purchased separately, based on the FLA of the motor, and installed in the field to properly operate the starter. For the Adapted Bimetallic device only, if the FLA is known at the time of purchase, you can order the starter with the OLR installed. For more information and a list of options, see Adapted Bimetallic Overload Relay Forms. (Catalog no. example: 8736SCO8V06E—without OLR)
TeSys™ T is a flexible system that integrates seamlessly into your automation system through five major communication protocols. TeSys T can predict what will happen in the process, as it accurately monitors current, voltage, and power over a wide range. For additional information about the TeSys T Motor Management System, see TeSys™ T Motor Management System (for example, 8736SCO8V06H616).
Melting alloy type thermal overload blocks are installed as part of the starter, and thermal elements must be selected and installed separately in order to operate the starter. For a three-phase motor, three thermal units must be ordered using the tables beginning under Thermal Unit Selection. The catalog number includes no Form number (for example, 8736SCO8V06). |

noteIn 3–Pole Polyphase,
600 Vac Maximum, 50–60 Hz, with Motor Logic SSOLR, replace
the three bullets (●●●) in the catalog number
with the coil voltage code. Refer to the standard coil voltage codes
shown in Coil Voltage Codes. For information on field modification of NEMA 12 enclosures, see
Selection. For Form H30•, special lower-FLA factory-assembled starter
combinations with Motor Logic™ SSOLR protection are available
for certain sizes. See Solid-State Overload Relay Forms for more information.
