CPAnode

The anode is connected to the pipe by means of wire and acts as the place of input for the current that is diverted. The anode is “sacrificed” to protect the metal in the pipe from corroding. Anodes are commonly placed at 100- to 1,000- foot intervals along the pipe, depending on the size of the pipe and the weight of the anode.

You may omit specific feature classes from gas traces. To do this, assign the GASNONTRACABLE model name to the CPAnode feature class.

CPAnode acquires properties from the CathodicProtectionDevice abstract class.
