DevicePoint

A DevicePoint represents a place to which fiber optic service is delivered, but that does not have a patch panel. These are typically much smaller and simpler installations than a patch panel location. Examples of these locations may be a electric distribution system recloser on a power pole that has a SCADA device that is connected to the fiber optic network. It could also represent a CCTV camera that is monitoring a secure area or a traffic intersection. The concept is that a single, or small number of, devices are connected to the fiber optic network and define an end point for at least one circuit.
