Markup Configuration

Markup tools allow users to place graphics on the map in the mobile app and send them off to a GIS analyst who can then make permanent changes in the database. To take advantage of this functionality, feature services must be created to represent the markup palettes that users utilize.

To expedite configuring your system to utilize markup tools, Schneider Electric provides sample data that creates a markup palette for you. Follow the instructions located on the ArcFM Markup Sample Data page to get up and running quickly. If you elect not to use the sample data, follow the instructions below to create a markup palette.

The first item to accomplish is configuring markup palettes in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, then the remaining configuration occurs in the Solution Center, until it’s time to configure ArcFM Markup Tools, which happens in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro.

Sync Services configuration is not required for Markup tools.

IMPORTANT: If at any time during the configuration process you encounter unexpected results, refer to the ArcFM Mobile Troubleshooting Guide on myArcFM.

Photos in Markups

Photos are associated with a given markup assignment and markup via a series of GUIDs, and they maintain their original format (jpg, heic, etc.) throughout the workflow, based on the device being used. When a photo is sent to ArcMap or Pro, it can be downloaded and saved to disk by utilizing ArcFM Mobile Markup Tools.

If the total size of photos that users attempt to upload exceeds 100 MB per markup, they are prevented from uploading the most recent photo or batch of photos. Contact Schneider Electric Technical Support to have this max upload value changed.
