Localization
ArcFM Mobile is published in US English by default, but customers and partners can engage Schneider Electric to obtain a software build whose UI elements have been translated into another language. The requester is responsible for supplying translated text, but the ArcFM Mobile team facilitates delivery of localized software.
The process is as follows:
-
A customer or partner makes a localization request through Technical Support.
-
The ArcFM Mobile team provides the requester with localization resource (
.resx
) files, which contain the English-language strings for localizable UI elements in the application. -
Using the English-language resource (
.resx
) files as templates, the requester creates new resource files in which each element contains the translated equivalent of its English-language counterpart in the original files. -
The customer or partner supplies these translated resource (
.resx
) files to the ArcFM Mobile team at Schneider Electric. -
Using these translated resource files, the Schneider Electric team creates a localized build of ArcFM Mobile and supplies the translated application to the requester.
