Add a New Operational Map
-
Administrators must apply values decided by their organization into each of the text boxes on the Settings vertical tab. This properly configures EXI to work with the deployed Utility Network and the Common Field Names list.
-
Administrators see the Session Manager and Editor Maps tabs when the plugin is open. Select the Editor Maps tab to adjust the EXI configuration. Selecting this tab displays a list of already configured services, or if no services have been configured yet, a blank page is displayed.
IMPORTANT: The Operational Map used must be secured behind a login for versioning functionality to work properly. If the Operational Map is not secure, users receive an error message when trying to create a session. -
On the Editor Maps tab, click the Add New
button to create a new configuration per Operational Map. This button automatically navigates you to the Operational Map tab of the Mapping plugin for Solution Center to add a new Operational Map.
IMPORTANT: Only one utility network domain can be added per operational map in Editor XI. -
Type the published map service URL into the URL field. The URL in the image is just an example and not a working map service.
TIP: Be sure the URL points to a MapServer and not a FeatureServer. -
Use the toggles to determine which XI series applications are allowed to access the map.
-
Under Machine-to-machine authentication, type the User Name and Password for the ArcGIS Server/Portal user credential.
IMPORTANT: This is only required if your company is using the hosted Edge Service. If your company is using the on-site Edge Service, this credential is not required and you can leave these fields empty. If in the future your company moves to a hosted Edge Service, this credential is created at that time, and you can re-visit the Operational Map to supply it. -
Click Save.
-
Click the back arrow at the top left of the Solution Center window to return to the Editor Maps tab in the Editor plugin where you can continue configuring your Utility Network.
