Create a New Session

These steps walk you through the process of creating a new session.

Session Manager supports sessions using a map that does not contain any Utility Network features. If you have an operational map that does not contain a Utility Network, it must have a VersionManagerServer endpoint configured to be added as a valid operational map for Session Manager.

IMPORTANT: Session Manager does not support creating versions in a map with layers from more than one configured operational map. Features from different Operational Maps need to be edited in separate sessions in separate maps in ArcGIS Pro.

  1. Click the Add New button.
  2. Type a Session Name and Description, and choose a Feature Service (Operational Map) from the drop-down. The Session Name field is limited to 63 characters. The list in the drop-down is populated from the configured operational maps.

  3. Optional: After choosing your feature service, you have the ability to associate the session with either an address or a specific facility.

Good to Know

  • Sessions are deleted in the Overview tab. Select the session you wish to delete from the list, then click the Delete Delete button button. When you delete a session, it also deletes the associated version.

  • Click the Refresh Refresh button button to update the Sessions list view. This shows any sessions that have been created or updated since your list was last refreshed.
