Guidelines for Modeling Non-spatial Meters
Context
After reviewing the ArcFM UN Configuration Guide, you likely determined that including meters and their attributes in GRRs has merit.Feeder Services supports non-spatial meters per the modeling options below.
Data Modeling Options
There are three supported modeling options, all of which are supported by Feeder Services and the ArcFM Component Model. The resource types are listed within the diagram shapes.
-
Modeling Option 1: Meters connected directly to Service Point.
-
Modeling Option 2: Meters are connected to the Premise, and a Premise is connected to the Service Point. In this scenario, the Service Point represents an entire building, and the Premise represents a single floor or several floors of that building. Having the Premise in the middle allows for more meaningful organizations of Meters.
-
Modeling Option 3: Meters are connected to the Service Point, and the Service Point is contained within the Premise. In this scenario, the Premise represents an entire building, and the Service Point represents a single floor or several floors of that building. Notice, in this case, the NonSpatialServiceLocation is the resource type for Premise (as opposed to the NonSpatialServiceLocationWithTerminals in Modeling Option 2).
