Exporting the ArcFM Fiber Manager 10.x Configuration

Before migrating data, export your Fiber Manager 10.x configuration. The exported XML file will be imported to Fiber Manager XI as part of the Configuration topics in this guide.

1. From the ArcFM Fiber Manager XI and Wavepoint XI Installers page, scroll down the page and download the appropriate Fiber 10.x Export Tool.

   Download the tool on the same machine that has ArcCatalog and has access to your geodatabase.

2. Close ArcCatalog.

3. Run the Fiber 10.x Export Tool executable.

4. Follow the prompts in the Fiber 10.x Export setup wizard using the default installation.

5. Open ArcCatalog.

6. Click the Customize menu, then click Customize Mode.

7. Click the Commands tab.

8. Under Categories, click ArcFM Solution.

9. Scroll through the items under Commands, or search for fiber 10.

   

10. Click and drag the Fiber10.x Export tool on to the ArcFM Solution toolbar.

    

11. Close the Customize window.

12. Run the tool against your geodatabase.

    1. In the Catalog Tree, click your geodatabase once to highlight it.

    2. From the toolbar, click the Fiber 10.x Export tool.

    3. In the Save As window, select a destination for the XML file and click Save.

    4. Confirm you see the XML file in the destination you chose.
