Configure TroubleMaker

The TroubleMaker configuration file (Miner.Responder.TroubleMaker.exe.config) is an XML file that must be configured to use Responder's TroubleMaker. You can edit the file by opening it in an XML application (such as XML Spy) or by opening it in a simple text editing program (such as Notepad). Miner.Responder.TroubleMaker.exe.config is installed in: Program Files\Miner and Miner\Responder\TroubleMaker\.

You will look for specific XML tags and then edit the attributes as described in the steps below.

Open Miner.Responder.TroubleMaker.exe.config. By default this file is installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\Responder\TroubleMaker\.

Look for the following XML tag.

      <channel ref="msmq" ComputerName="ServerName"/>

Set the ComputerName attribute to the name of the machine that hosts your Responder server. If you're running Responder data services locally, you can enter "." (e.g., ComputerName=".").
Save and close Miner.Responder.TroubleMaker.exe.config.
