Creating Floors and Rooms

The Floor is the tab to start with when you create new projects.

You can create 10 floors maximum in eConfigure KNX Lite.

You can insert an image as a background of your floor (the floor plan) to allow graphic work in the design of your project.

Acceptable formats are:

• JPEG

• BMP

• PNG

• PDF

• JPG

The maximum size of the image is 5000 × 4490 pixels.

To create floors and rooms, follow these steps:

1. In the Floor tab, click Add floor.

2. Fill in the New floor form and upload the background image.

3. On your floor plan, draw rooms on each floor:

   • Click one of the two room creation tools according to the shape of your room:

   • Draw the outline of your room (rectangle or polygon).

   • Name your rooms: Room names are given by default. If you want to rename them, click the pencil next to the default room name > type new name of your room > press Enter on your keyboard.

4. Drag and drop devices and loads into the plan and change the parameters for each item (if necessary).

5. Link devices with loads (or other devices). You can also connect devices and loads between floors. Find more information here: Channels and Links).
