Presentation

MicroLogic Active control units receive and process electrical opening orders. An event is generated on opening.

Operating Principle

Opening orders can be sent as follows:

Directly through a mechanical opening pushbutton.
Locally through an external opening pushbutton, connected directly or via the BCIM module to the MX communicating opening voltage release
Remotely through a remote order which is managed by the MicroLogic Active control unit.

Opening orders have priority over closing orders. No closing orders are taken into account as long as an open order is active.

The open orders on MN or MX voltage releases by external pushbutton can be maintained to force the circuit breaker in open position and reject any close order. The MicroLogic Active open orders are not maintained.

Management of Opening Function

DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH Do not operate the circuit breaker without confirming that doing so will not create a hazardous situation. Do not use MicroLogic Active remote control functions in a safety chain. Do not allow any person to work on the electrical network without physically validating the successful execution of the local or remote software actions for opening the circuit breaker or switching off the electrical circuit. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

The control logic for managing opening orders is summarized in the following graphic and table:

CB closed	Circuit breaker is closed
Auto Local	Control mode is Auto Local
MX control by BCIM enabled	Control of the MX voltage release by the BCIM module is enabled.
BCIM IO mode=Open/Close	The BCIM IO mode parameter is set to Open/Close.
BCIM IO open	Open order from the opening pushbutton connected to the BCIM module
FDM121 open	Open order from FDM121 display
Auto Remote	Control mode is Auto Remote
COM open	Open order from a server or remote controller
