Opening Function

Presentation

MicroLogic Active control units receive and process electrical opening orders. An event is generated on opening.

Operating Principle

Opening orders can be sent as follows:

  • Directly through a mechanical opening pushbutton.

  • Locally through an external opening pushbutton.

  • Remotely through a remote order which is managed by the MicroLogic Active control unit.

Opening orders have priority over closing orders. No closing orders are taken into account as long as an open order is active.

The open orders on MN or MX voltage releases by external pushbutton can be maintained to force the circuit breaker in open position and reject any close order. The MicroLogic Active open orders are not maintained.

Management of Opening Function

DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
  • Do not operate the circuit breaker without confirming that doing so will not create a hazardous situation.
  • Do not use MicroLogic Active remote control functions in a safety chain.
  • Do not allow any person to work on the electrical network without physically validating the successful execution of the local or remote software actions for opening the circuit breaker or switching off the electrical circuit.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

The MicroLogic Active control unit manages opening orders issued by the following means:

The control logic for managing opening orders is summarized in the following graphic and table:
