Backdrops

Backdrops provide the landbase that appears underneath the features, both the design features and the reference features. Backdrops typically provide imagery or a street map to aid in navigation and orientation.

IMPORTANT: Backdrops must be a MapServer URL (in other words, it must end with MapServer as seen in the image below). They cannot be a Web Map service.

While on Backdrops, you can type the location of the newly-published services, give it a user-friendly name, and Save.

IMPORTANT: Before adding a Backdrop, ensure it meets the configuration requirements listed in Create and Publish Custom Basemaps.

IMPORTANT: All backdrops (including tile packages) must use the same projection that is defined in the electric or gas geometric network.

Backdrops added here in the Solution Center are visible in the application on the Maps pane > Backdrop.
