Create Geodatabase Regions

Once you create a region, it exists until you delete it.

IMPORTANT:
  • The topics in this help chapter apply to you if your geodatabase uses the Geometric Network (GN). If you are on the GN, create your GRRs in Solution Center > Designer > Mapping > Geodatabase Regions.

  • If your geodatabase uses the Utility Network (UN), do not create your GRRs here. Instead, create them in Solution Center > Feeder Services > Mapping > Geodatabase Regions. See the Feeder Services topic

Configure Geodatabase Regions for more information.

To create a region, follow these steps:

  1. Use the drop-down to choose Geodatabase Regions.

  2. Click the Add New button.

  3. For Domain choose Electric or Gas.

  4. A list of feeders and regions that do not yet have a Geodatabase Region created is visible.

    1. You can search by typing in part of the feeder or region ID. Then, press Enter or click Search. It is a keyword style search that queries anywhere within the ID.

    2. You can click an individual feeder or region to highlight it.

TIP: Are you not seeing the feeder or region? The most likely reason is that it already has a Geodatabase Region. Only feeders or regions that do not yet have a Geodatabase Region are displayed.

    3. You can use Shift and Ctrl to highlight multiple feeders or regions.

  5. Once the feeders or regions are highlighted, click Save in the lower, right-hand corner.

  6. A progress bar appears. Also, look for the notification when the process is complete.
