Configure Basemaps

Basemaps are the background layers of digital maps. Users do not interact with the features of a basemap. Instead, the basemap acts as spatial reference for the operational maps that overlay on top. The Basemaps tab shows you all existing basemaps. Each basemap in the list has Display Name, Status, and URL fields.

NOTE: If you see Down as the status for a basemap, this could mean one of three things:

Some map services require portal authentication. You must be logged in to the Solution Center with permissions to contact that map service.
The service is actually unavailable at the moment.
A combination of the two: you aren’t logged into the Solution Center with authorized credentials and the service is unavailable.

Click the:

Add New icon to add a new basemap to your list. You must provide the Display Name and URL.
Refresh icon to refresh your list of basemaps.
Delete icon to remove a basemap from your list. You are prompted to confirm deletion.
