Add a New Operational Map
-
From the Editor plugin, navigate to the Editor Maps tab. Selecting this tab displays a list of operational maps. Each operational map can have its own Editor configuration.
-
For existing operational maps, administrators can configure domain network settings here. This ensures Editor works with the deployed Utility Network. Selecting this tab displays configured operational maps, or if no operational maps have been configured yet, a blank page is displayed.
IMPORTANT: The operational map used must be secured behind a login for versioning functionality to work properly. If the operational map is not secure, users receive an error message when trying to create a session. -
On the Editor Maps tab, click the Add New
button to create a new operational map. This button automatically navigates you to the Operational Maps tab of the Mapping plugin for Solution Center to add a new operational map.
IMPORTANT: Only one utility network domain can be added per operational map in Editor XI. -
Type a Display Name and the published map service URL into the appropriate fields. The URL in the image is just an example and not a working map service.
NOTE: Be sure the URL points to a MapServer and not a FeatureServer. -
Use the toggles to determine which XI series applications are allowed to access the map.
-
Under Machine-to-machine authentication, type the Username and Password for the ArcGIS Server/Portal user credential.
NOTE: As a best practice, Schneider Electric recommends regularly cycling operational map machine-to-machine authentication credentials. -
Click Save.
-
Click the back arrow at the top left of the Solution Center window to return to the Editor Maps tab in the Editor plugin where you can continue configuring your Utility Network and Editor settings for the new operational map.
