Water Traces

In this topic, we list the hard coded parameters that define our traces. See the Trace Results Options topic in the Editor Using Guide for information on user configurable settings for your trace.

Isolation Trace

This trace makes use of Esri’s Isolation tracer.

We use the following parameters:

• Retrieve the WaterDistributionTierName from the Water Domain configuration

• Functions are set to an empty list

• Do NOT Validate Consistency

• Include isolated features

• Barriers are set to Regulator and Isolating devices

Esri’s tracing methods generate an exception upon detecting dirty areas unless the Validate Consistency parameter is set to false. Given that trace results provide valuable troubleshooting insights beyond the identification of dirty areas, and given that Esri highlights dirty areas in various ways, we request trace results be returned even in the presence of dirty areas.

System Trace

This trace uses Esri’s Connected Trace.

We use the following parameters:

• Retrieve the WaterDistributionTierName from the Water Domain configuration

• Functions are set to an empty list

• Target tier and Source tier are null

• Do NOT Validate Consistency
