Add Reference Design

As you are sketching in the application, you see your design work and the existing network on the map. Meanwhile, other designers are working elsewhere, and they see their designs and the existing network on the map. These other designs are hidden from your view, by default.

But, what if you wanted to see another design and use it as a reference for your design? That’s what the Add Reference Design tool accomplishes. It reveals other designs and allows you to bring them into your current design.

• The reference designs can be designs you own or designs owned by another user.

• The reference design can be in any state (in design, pushed, closed, etc).

• You can bring in multiple reference designs.

• The reference design can be from a different feeder or Design Region.

• You can either click a work area on the map to bring in a reference design, or you can search for it using a text query.

• If the reference design included Stamp Graphics, they are also brought in as part of the reference design.

• You can snap into and sketch off the reference design.

• The CUs from the reference design do not become a part of the CUs in your design.

• When you push your design, the reference design CUs do not get pushed. They would get pushed when the reference design itself is pushed in the normal workflow.
