Print Tab

Modifying or creating the printed map to be included in your construction packet can easily be accomplished on the Print Tab.

IMPORTANT: A basemap is required for the application to be able to print design. If you are connected to the internet, then it can stream a basemap. However, if you are planning on doing work while disconnected from the internet, then you must download a package prior to going offline. See Settings for more information about downloading packages.

This tab contains all tools related to finishing out the project with a presentable map.

IMPORTANT: The Save tool works against both the Design and the Print simultaneously.

Using a Pre-Defined Print Template

One of the most helpful time-savers on the Print tab is to employ a pre-defined print template. These are created by an administrator (with user input, of course) and shared across the organization. A well-defined template can accomplish almost all the printable tasks for you.

On the Print Pages pane, click the Add icon.

Then, choose a template. Templates are sorted ascending by name (the names in the image below are examples and differ from your company’s templates).

IMPORTANT: If you are planning on printing multiple pages, all pages in the print job must be the same page size and page orientation. Keep that in mind when choosing your template. See the Print Multiple Pages topic for more information.

After applying the template, you can make further modifications to the print.

The subsequent help topics discuss these modifications including extent, navigation, and adding print elements.

Print Progress Bar

After you send the map to the printer (or to PDF), a progress bar appears:

While the application is generating the print map, the interface locks and most functions are disabled until the print is complete.
