Focus on the Selected Element
Focus on the Selected Element allows you to select a design component (or multiple components) in the map and then find its CU in the Project pane.
As your design grows and gains complexity, sometimes it is difficult
to scan through the list of CUs in the Project pane to find the one
you want. If you can find it on the map quicker, it is easier to select
it, then click the Focus on the Selected Element
tool.
In short, much like you can hover over an item in the Project pane
and click the Pan and Zoom to
tool to see it on the map, this provides navigation the “other
way,” by selecting the component in the map, then focusing
on it in the Project pane.
To use this tool:
-
Select a component in the map.
-
Notice the Project pane adjusts to show the selected component. The Project pane scrolls up or down and also expands collapsed layers in order to make the selected component visible in the pane.
TIP: Each time you click the Focus on the Selected Element tool on various components, the Project pane continues to adjust and expand to make selected components visible. If you would like the Project pane to collapse everything except the group that contains the selected component, press Ctrl while clicking the tool. This “cleans up” the Project pane and only expands the group that contains the selected component.
