Clone Remove CUs

To properly reflect the true cost of removing an asset from the field, it often requires multiple remove CUs assigned to many pieces of equipment. For example, to remove a pole could also include removing the braces, brackets, support arms, insulators, etc.

After building out a comprehensive set of remove CUs in the Project pane, you can clone that set, then apply it to another component of the same type. This is akin to “copying” the removes, then “pasting” them onto another component.

IMPORTANT: Currently this functionality is only for poles.

To clone the remove CUs and apply to other components, follow these steps:

  1. Create a comprehensive set of remove CUs in the Project pane. In the following image, in addition to the pole itself, this removal includes the braces, arms, and other hardware.

  2. In the Project pane, hover over the remove CU for the pole, then click Clone Remove CUs.

  3. Your cursor changes into a remove CU target.

  4. Using your cursor, “paint” over other components that require the same set of remove CUs.

TIP: With the remove tool enabled, clicking and dragging starts the paint process, but usually that pans the map. If you need to pan while using this tool, press and hold Ctrl. This temporarily changes your cursor to the pan tool.
  5. Release your cursor. Notice, those components bear the same set of remove CUs in the Project pane.
