List of Designs
All of the designs assigned to you are listed along the left-hand side of the interface.
When you single-click on a design, you see more information about it on the right-hand side of the interface.
When you double-click a design, it opens it in the Design tab ready for you to get to work.
Search for Designs
The Search is a keyword style, and it assumes wild cards before and after your search. The list of designs automatically winnows as you type, and you do not need to press Enter to initiate the search. The Search field queries the following:
-
Design Name
-
Design Notes
-
Design Custom Properties
-
Work Request Name
-
Work Request Notes
-
Work Request Description
-
Work Request Customer
-
Work Request Custom Properties
For example, in the following image the word “upgrade” was searched, and that produced three hits with the word “upgrade” in various parts of the design and work request names.
Sort Designs
Sort options are located directly beneath the Search field.
You can sort ascending or
descending based upon the following choices:
-
By Design Name
-
By Modified Date
-
By Created Date
-
By Due Date (this field name can be changed by your company; in the image above, it is called by its default name By Due Date; it can be changed in Solution Center > Designer > Client Application > General > Assignment Due Date Label)
-
By Work Request Name
Available Actions
Directly beneath the Search field, there are three buttons: Refresh, Download All, and Create.
-
Refresh
-
Forces the application to check for new work and make it available in the list. The application also automatically checks for new work on startup, and every 30 minutes after.
-
-
Download All
-
If you are planning offline work, download the design first. You can download designs individually, but the Download All button downloads them all at once. Download does not lock the interface, allowing you to open a different design, download a map package, etc.
-
-
Create
-
This allows you to create a new design within the application itself (as opposed to a design being created in your company’s WMS and then getting assigned to you). More information is found in the topic Create a New Design.
-
Design Progress Status
Icons indicate the current status of the design. Look for the subtle differences in the clock to see which designs are new and which have been previously opened and edited.
-
: This a new design. that has been assigned to you. You have not made and saved any design or print edits.
-
: This is a design you have already opened, and you have already made and saved edits. It is “in progress.” Or, if you Create a New Design, it starts with this status.
-
: This is a new design pending your approval. You have not opened it yet.
-
: This design is pending your approval, and you have already opened it..
TIP: Depending on your role, you might not see the Approve statuses.
Work Management System (WMS) Status
Icons indicate the WMS status of a design.
-
: This design is assigned to a Work Request. You are still working on the design, and it is getting saved to your company’s server.
-
: This design is not assigned to a Work Request. It is a local design getting saved to your local machine.
-
: This Work Request has multiple designs in it. One of those designs has been selected as the one to push through the remaining workflow steps. The others will be discarded. The application allows only one design per Work Request to get pushed in order to avoid duplicate components.
