Remove Equipment

When you remove equipment, Designer XI attempts to find the appropriate removal CUs and then assigns them to their respective equipment. Removal CUs are necessary, as the scope of removal is different than the scope of installation. Removal CUs are added to the equipment catalog by an administrator.

The equipment remains on the map throughout the design. If equipment is getting replaced, the same feature on the map will have both a removal CU and an installation CU. Once the design is sent back to the enterprise GIS and after the work is complete in the field, the equipment updates with the new component and specifications.

When removing equipment, you can utilize the click wheel to add appropriate removal CUs. This works well when only one or two items need to be removed.

For bulk removal, Designer XI provides a Remove Existing Devices tool that allows you to remove large sections at the same time.
