Print Multiple Pages
The print job and canvas you create on the Print Tab can be for a single page or multiple pages. If you need to break the job into multiple pages, use the Print Pages pane to get started.
Getting Started
Before you can have multiple pages, you need to start with a single
page. On the Print Pages pane, click the Add icon, then choose a template. Templates are sorted ascending by
name.
As described on the Print Tab help topics, work with the printable canvas as needed.
Add More Pages
When you are satisfied with the canvas, you can add more pages to your print job. To do so, follow these steps:
-
Choose the template for your second page, then click OK. Because this is the second time you have clicked the Add
icon, there is a new choice to
Copy Current Page. This is a great time-saver, as it copies all the work you have done to the canvas.
IMPORTANT:-
If you do not choose Copy Current Page and instead choose the same template again, the template for the second page reverts to the default layout and default print elements as saved in the template.
-
You must use the same page size and page orientation for all pages in the print job. If you choose a different page size or orientation for subsequent pages, a warning appears stating that the application will change all pages to match the newly-selected template. If you choose a new page size or orientation, print elements do not scale proportionally to the new template.
-
-
With multiple pages listed in the pane, you can perform the following edits:
-
Double-click the page name to type a new name. After typing a new name, press Enter or click outside the name field to accept the changes.
-
Re-order pages using the move up, move down, move to start, and move to end arrows.
-
Delete a page by clicking the Delete icon.
-
Copy the current page to create a new page by clicking the
Copy Current Page icon.
-
Good to Know
Keep the following in mind when working with multiple pages:
-
Each page saves these unique attributes (in other words, these can vary among the pages):
-
Canvas elements (text, images, etc.)
-
Map extent (the size of the frame around the map and the zoom of the map within that frame)
-
Scale
-
-
All pages must share these attributes (in other words, these cannot vary among the pages):
-
Page size
-
Page orientation
-
Print resolution
-
-
The top-to-bottom page order in the Print Page pane is the same page order used by your Print dialog. Use the same page numbers if choosing a specific range of pages to print.
