IHC Input Modules

IHC Input modules are added to the SWITCHBOARD directly under the IHC Interface. These modules provide the physical IHC input channels used for connecting IHC input devices placed on the Floor plan.

To add an Input module, follow the steps below.

Opening the “Add Input Module” Dialog

  1. In the SWITCHBOARD > Actuators tab, locate the IHC Interface already placed in the switchboard.

  2. Click Add Input Module beneath the IHC Interface entry. This opens the Add input module dialog.
    The dialog contains two selections:

    • IHC Interface port – the physical port on the IHC Interface where the input module will be attached.

    • Module – the specific input module model you want to insert.

Selecting the IHC Interface Port

At the top of the dialog, use the drop-down menu IHC Interface port to select the desired input port.

  • Each IHC Interface supports multiple input ports.

  • Each port can accept one input module.

  • eConfigure automatically prevents assignment conflicts by showing only valid ports.

Choosing the IHC Input Module Type

Below the port selector, eConfigure lists all supported IHC input modules:

  • IHC Control input 24 V DC / 24 mA with 16 inputs

  • IHC Control input 24 V DC / 3 mA with 16 inputs

  • IHC Control input 230 V AC with 8 inputs

You select the module depending on the wiring and voltage used in the physical installation.

To proceed:

  1. Click the desired module in the list.

  2. Click OK.

The selected Input module appears directly beneath the IHC Interface in the switchboard.

Channel Structure of an Input Module

Each input module displays its available channels in a numbered list:

  • Channel 1 → 1.01

  • Channel 2 → 1.02

  • Channel 3 → 1.03

  • Channel 4 → 1.04

  • Channel 5 → 1.05

  • Channel 6 → 1.06

  • Channel 7 → 1.07

  • Channel 8 → 1.08

  • Channel 9 → 1.11

  • Channel 10 → 1.12

  • Channel 11 → 1.13

  • Channel 12 → 1.14

  • Channel 13 → 1.15

  • Channel 14 → 1.16

  • Channel 15 → 1.17

  • Channel 16 → 1.18

Where:

  • The first number (1) represents the IHC Interface port.

  • The second number (18) represents the input channel number on the module.

Assigning Loads to Input Channels

Each channel includes a Drop here field.

These are interactive link targets user for:

  • Connecting IHC push-buttons

  • Linking any other IHC input device placed on the Floor plan.

To link an IHC device:

  1. Go to the Floor section of the SWITCHBOARD.

  2. Select the IHC input device.

  3. Drag a channel connection line to the appropriate Drop here slot.

Once assigned:

  • The channel field updates with the device name and channel.

  • eConfigure automatically manages internal addressing and numbering.

Adding Multiple Input Modules

If more input modules are added:

  • They appear in the SWITCHBOARD in the order they were assigned.

  • Each module receives its own block with channels.

  • Channels continue numbering according to port and module type.

  • eConfigure validates that input ports are not over-assigned.

For example:

  • First module on port 1 → channels 1.01 – 1.16.

  • Second module on port 2 → channels 2.01 – 2.18.

Removing or Replacing Input Modules

Each module includes a small trash icon on the right side.

Removing a module will:

  • Remove all channel assignments under it.

  • Unlink any inputs previously mapped.

  • Free the interface port for adding another module type.
