Adding Multi-Meter Devices (MCM)
Presentation
A multi-component meter (MCM) is composed of a head unit and multiple circuits.
Modbus serial devices associated with multiple meters can be added or removed from the Panel Server through the webpages. The meters must share the same physical server ID or Unit ID. They must be added using custom models, with one custom model for the head unit and one custom model for each associated meter. For example, the Rayleigh multi-circuit meter can be configured as:
-
Either 2 three-phase circuits, using 2 dedicated custom models
-
Or 6 single-phase circuits, using 6 dedicated custom models
The 2 or 6 circuits (meters) are added manually to the Panel Server as Modbus devices.
Manual Addition of Multi-Meter Devices (MCM)
Follow this procedure to add a device associated with multiple meters.
-
Create a custom model for the head unit and one custom model for each meter associated with the multi-meter device using EPC Web tool. Import the custom models into Panel Server.
-
At , add the head unit and associated meters one by one, using either Modbus serial manual addition or Modbus TCP/IP manual addition, as appropriate for your device..
-
Enter the same physical server ID for Modbus serial devices or the same IP address, port and Unit ID for Modbus TCP/IP devices.
-
For the head unit and each meter, select the appropriate custom model from the drop-down device list. The custom model must be different for each meter.
Once discovered, the devices are displayed in the Modbus devices section.
