Create New Session in ArcGIS Pro

These steps walk you through creating a new session in ArcGIS Pro.

IMPORTANT: Session Manager does not support creating versions in a map with layers from more than one configured operational map. Features from different Operational Maps need to be edited in separate sessions in separate maps in ArcGIS Pro.

  1. In Editor XI, click the Session Manager tab. Next, click the Session Session Manager buttonbutton.
  2. Click the Add New Add New button button. Provide a session name and description. If you want to be automatically switched to this new session upon creation, click the Open Session After Creation? checkbox.

    Click the Submit Submit button button to create the session.

    IMPORTANT: When a session is created in ArcGIS Pro, the edit assignment is automatically assigned to the user who created the session.
  3. More session information can be included by populating the fields in the Session Details tab of the session card, or the Additional Session Information drop-down within Solution Center. Refer to the Session Custom Properties topic under the Advanced Tab in the Solution Center guide.

  4. Click the Apply Apply button button.
The Session Manager Toolbar is visible in Pro once a session has been opened.
