Rename Targets

The names of targets created from the map default to the asset type and the date and time the target was created. For example:

If the target was created from an Esri Template on the Create Features pane, then the target name does not include the date and time it was created.

If non-spatial objects are present, the default name follows the same name patterns, except if there are more than one of the same type of non-spatial objects, the second line is appended with “Unit” followed by a number to differentiate the objects. For example:

You can rename the Target by right-clicking on the Target name and selecting Rename. This enables you to rename the second line of the Target name only. In the enabled text box, type the new Target name, then hit Enter for the new name to be applied. Renamed Targets are automatically saved across all panes that display target names (e.g. Targets pane, Create Features pane, and Manage Templates pane.).

If you decide not to rename the field while still in the process of renaming, hit Esc to exit out of the rename mode.
