Edit Existing Ducts or Cables

Duct or cable attributes can be edited after they are created. They can also be moved, but that’s covered in the Duct Placement topic.
It is highly recommended attribute edits are completed in the Conduit Manager Layout Editor. Edits to the Duct ID, Diameter, Shape, Material, Facility ID, Available, or Occupied attributes in the Layout Editor also update those attributes for associated ducts, duct flags, and duct ends upon saving. If these attributes are edited outside of the Layout Editor, the attributes of the associated features do not change.
  1. To update attributes for ducts or cables, select the item you want to edit in the Duct List tab or Duct Layout tab. The attributes for the item are displayed at the bottom of the selected tab. The image below shows the editing process in the List tab. The process is the same in the Layout tab with the exception that cables can only be edited on the List tab since they are not visible on the Layout tab.
  2. Change the attributes as needed. When a change is made to a duct, but the edit hasn’t been saved yet, the duct is highlighted in green, with dark yellow text, and has MODIFIED preceding the duct name. Unlike when you add a new duct to a duct bank, when you edit duct attributes, the associated duct bank is not also marked MODIFIED.
  3. Click Save to finish your edits. After saving, the MODIFIED text and associated coloring disappear from the List view and the Duct ID in the Layout view is updated, if modified. If there is an associated duct flag, the annotation for the duct flag updates to show any changes to the Duct ID.
NOTE: The save button only applies your edits, it does not save the edits in your session.
