Session Reassignment

This tool provides the ability to change the user assigned to a session.

From the My Work tab, click the Reassign Reassign button button on your session card to display a drop-down where you select the user to whom you’d like to reassign the session.

The Assign dialog appears giving the user a list of users to select from.

The list of available users in the drop-down have roles matching the assignment state of the session. For example, if the session is currently in the Edit state, only GIS Editors show in the list.

To reassign multiple sessions at once, build your selected set by selecting your first session, and then using the Shift or Control keys. The session card displays Multiple Sessions Selected. Now, reassign multiple sessions just as you would a single session.

To reassign sessions shown on the Available Work tab, select the sessions, and click the Take Ownership Image shows the Take Ownership button. button in the session card.

All the selected sessions move to your ownership, and display under the My Work tab. A confirmation message indicates the process is complete.

A message confirming selected sessions have been reassigned to you.

Unassigning a Session

You can also unassign a session that is assigned to you in ArcGIS Pro. Since you can only see sessions that are available or already assigned to you in ArcGIS Pro, you can only unassign sessions that are assigned to you, not anyone else. Follow the steps below to unassign a session in Session Manager within ArcGIS Pro.

  1. On the Session Manager dialog, select one or more sessions assigned to you.

  2. Click the Reassign Reassign button button.

  3. Select Available Work — Unassign from the Assign dialog.

  4. The session moves back to the Available Work list. A message indicates the unassign process is complete. Session history shows it was unassigned.

    Message confirming that all sessions are now unassigned.
