Vault Wall

The Vault Wall is the top section of the Layout Editor pane. It displays the outline of the selected vault. Before the vault is displayed, you need to select a vault using the Select Vault tool. This tool is found toward the top of the Layout Editor pane and is used to select a vault on your map. Using the default ArcGIS Pro select tool will not activate the Conduit Manager Pane. Only one vault can be selected at a time to display the Duct Layout Editor and conduit feature properties.

If the selected feature selected isn’t a vault, the following notification is displayed on the Conduit Manager dialog:

Once you have selected a vault, click on a duct bank and the selected duct bank is highlighted in blue. When a duct bank is selected, the Duct Layout Editor below the Vault Orientation updates to display the ducts present on the selected duct bank.

The Rotate check box allows the Vault Wall view to rotate as you click on a duct bank. It rotates in the Vault Wall so the selected duct bank is displayed at the top of the view.

The North arrow also rotates accordingly to help prevent confusion as to which duct wall you are looking as compared to the main ArcGIS Pro map.

The Zoom to selected vault and Pan to selected vault tools are also in the top right of the Conduit Manager pane near the Select Vault tools. These tools pan or zoom to the selected vault in the main ArcGIS Pro map.

The Select Vault Pane can be collapsed to allow more room in the Conduit Manager Layout Editor Pane to view other sections of the pane. Click the downward pointing carrot next to the vault FacilityID to collapse that section.

To expand the view again, click the carrot again (which now points to the right) to expand the view back to its original display.

TIP: The Vault Wall in the Layout Editor pane doesn't respond directly to edits made in ArcGIS Pro. This means geometry edits to a vault wall while the vault is selected in the Layout Editor, do not display automatically. For the new edits to display, you must re-select the vault again with the Select Vault tool.

It's important to ensure the vault polygon is correct and final before adding duct banks and ducts to the vault's walls, since it is very difficult to restore the geometric coincidence of existing ducts with the vault outline after modifying the shape of the vault outline in any way.
