Session Manager User Interface
In this topic, we’ll introduce the user interface elements within the Session Manager interface. Below is an image of the out-of-the-box (OOTB) Session Manager implementation.
In the upper left, you’ll see the Work Tabs.
On any Work Tab, you can search for a particular session within the complete list. You can also control the list display through the use of sorts and filters. Read more at the Session Search topic.
Use the Refresh
button to refresh the session list.
The
creates a new session and places it in the My Work tab. Learn
more at the Create and Edit Sessions topic.
The middle and right panes of the Session Manager user interface are dependent upon whether a single or multiple sessions are selected, and also upon the state of the session (what assignment type is associated with the session).
In the middle pane of the Session Manager interface, you’ll see Workflows at the top with Tasks displayed below. Some workflows like Approve and Reject are provided OOTB. Your company may have different workflow buttons visible here. Under the Tasks header in the image above, you see Zoom to Session Boundary. That is an example of the types of tasks your company could create and configure to appear in this location. There are not any tasks provided OOTB, but your company may have their own task buttons visible here.
In the upper right, you’ll see the title of the selected session or if multiple sessions are selected, an indicator of how many. To the right, you’ll see the state of the session (assignment type) with its associated symbol and color. In the OOTB implementation of Session Manager, we show a clock symbol for a session in the Approval state (or with an Approval assignment). Under the state is an indicator signaling whether a version has been created for this session. Read more at the Version Creation Status topic.
Below the session title, you see a ribbon of workflow buttons. These are actions that a user can take to move the session through its life cycle. OOTB, we offer Open Session, Reassign, and Delete.
Below the ribbon of workflow buttons are four tabs of data about the selected session. The first tab is Session Details, which displays the name, description, as-built status, and type of session. It also contains some information regarding when the session was created and other details about the session’s status. Read more at Creating a New Session in ArcGIS Pro. The last three tabs are Markups, Design, and History. Read more at the topic links.
