Place Strand Tool Hotkeys

While placing stranding, the following hotkeys help with all aspects of stranding.

IMPORTANT: Most computers respect the typical, left-click mouse button when using these hotkeys. However, if you find the application does not let you sketch a structure while pressing one of the hotkeys below, try using right-click to place the structure. This is particularly true on some laptop models.

IMPORTANT: If you sketch a structure with more than one hotkey pressed, the application does not sketch two structures. Instead, it follows a hierarchy of structure types and places one structure. In the following list, a structure ranked higher “wins” and is placed if more than one structure hotkey is pressed simultaneously:

Lockbox, hotkey L
Demarcation Point, hotkey D
Underground Junction, hotkey J
Pedestal, which could be placed without a hotkey if the Default Structure Type is Underground or placed with hotkey Shift if the Default Structure Type is Overhead
Pole, which could be placed without a hotkey if the Default Structure Type is Overhead or placed with hotkey Shift if the Default Structure Type is Underground
