Import Node Tab

Use the Import Node tab to interact with node boundaries and their components in a network.

IMPORTANT: The Import tool does not import previously-abandoned components. If you or another user had previously set a component’s Workflow Status to abandoned and commissioned that design, the component is not brought back into the DHFC application with the Import tool. To get an abandoned component back into the DHFC application, use ArcMap to update the Workflow Status of that component, then re-import.

Search by Node Name

Type a node name in the search field. As you type, Designer HFC provides possible results. Click Search to find all boundaries that have a node associated with a name matching the search term. Click Clear to remove all search results.

The Nodes list displays results of the search.

The Adjacent nodes list displays nodes adjacent to any nodes that are highlighted in the Nodes section.

Nodes

Nodes that conform to the search criteria that you typed are displayed in this area.

Adjacent Nodes

If there are any nodes adjacent to the one for which you searched, their names are displayed in this area.

Import/Zoom/Highlight

  • Import

    • With a node boundary selected, click to import the boundary into your workspace.

IMPORTANT: In some circumstances, when you import a node you might receive a message about a missing project file. What has likely happened is that the project file previously saved with that node has now been deleted by an administrator. The message prompts you to select a new project file.

  • Zoom

    • Click to zoom the map to the node you have selected in the list.

  • Highlight

    • Click to toggle the selected node that is highlighted on the map.

TIP: If you have boundaries without nodes assigned, you cannot push the design to GIS.
