Inspect

Use the Inspect tool to view information on a component in your network. You can also use the inspect tool to swap out one component for another in your design.

Inspect a Component

  1. Click the Inspect  icon to activate the tool. With the tool active, the map cursor becomes a pointer with a question mark .
  2. Click a component to view its details in the HUD.

Swap a Component

  1. Click the Inspect icon to activate the tool. With the tool active, the map cursor becomes a pointer with a question mark .
  2. Click a component that you want to edit.
  3. With a component highlighted, press C on the keyboard to view the Change Spec items to which the highlighted component can be changed.  Designer HFC filters the list of components to contain only the ones that can logically occupy that place in the network. For example, when swapping a node, the application will not include taps in the list due to invalid architecture.
  4. Double-click an item in the list to swap it with the current component.
    • Components labeled in red represent a potential violation to your design.

    • Components labeled yellow represent a potential warning to your design.

Delete a Component

You can delete RF components that are part of your design. You cannot delete existing components that have already been pushed to the GIS and given an Esri Object ID. You can also delete stranding that you have sketched as a part of your design, but you cannot delete existing stranding that was imported into your design.
  1. Click the Inspect icon to activate the tool. With the tool active, the map cursor becomes a pointer with a question mark .
  2. Click a component to highlight it, then press the Delete key.
